Flow activated bow spring centralizer is initially unexpanded, when the pressure difference inside the tool reaches the design value, the bow spring will expand.  That allows the centralizer to better pass through the limited pipe diameter and then expand to the specified pipe diameter to reduce unnecessary wear.
