Product introduction

Various regions of the world have historically experienced difficulties getting liner systems to target depth due to well conditions that inherently result in a stuck liner. This can be attributed to depleted or unstable formations, low pressure zones and excessive cave-ins. The practice of washing and reaming liners through these difficult hole sections is a proven technique for getting liners to bottom. However, a significant risk increase of prematurely setting a conventional hydraulic hanger due to circulating pressures exceeding the setting pressure capabilities of typical hydraulic hangers exists.

Grifco has developed a liner system that greatly reduces the risk of reaming or partially drilling a liner to total depth. Using the proven design of the hydraulic set JHSS Hanger as a base model, modifications were then implemented to produce a robust and functional system. A patented, redundant hydraulic cylinder, which balances out the setting forces, was developed to allow the liner to be run in, while circulating at high rates, without prematurely actuating the hanger slips. Hydraulic activation of the system occurs when landing a ball on seat within the running tool assembly while applying pressure.

Product Features
Redundant hydraulic cylinders provides the ability to circulate at high rates
Non-welded construction.
Proprietary slip design results in substantially lower and more uniform stresses in both the parent casing and the hanger mandrel (body) as axial loads are applied
Premium hydraulic cylinders seals for higher temperature and pressure ratings
