A polished bore receptacle is used in conjunction with the setting tool to carry the liner to setting depth when a liner top packer is not desired. Several different types of setting sleeves are available based on operational requirements. The carry-in profile will generally be of the threaded type (mechanical release) or hydraulic release type.
